It’s hard to believe that we created this shoot way back in March on Mothering Sunday. It was a lovely sunny day – gorgeous light and a nice warmth coming from Hill Place’s large windows, which made the shoot extra special.
I first approached photographer Tasha, of Ikonworks fame, about doing a 1940’s Atonement inspired shoot around January and she immediately loved the idea. I said I wanted it more historical than typical vintage – steering away from any ‘vintage’ cliches like red lipstick or Marilyn Monroe references. This was to be a very English affair. We then brought on styling team What Peggy Did Next, to which they then suggested the shoot to be held at Hill Place, which they help to run as a wedding venue. From there we then contacted our trusted suppliers and good friends to join us on this massive adventure. And no detail was too small either – I even travelled to Sussex one day to pick up the cocktail table from The Toast Events!
Seeing the shoot featured on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings is a complete dream and really is the icing on the cake.
We LOVE this shoot and we hope you do too x

A WOW cannot begin to describe yesterday! Fab weather, stunning venue and more importantly… gorgeous wedding couples!! The weather definitely helped to bring everyone to the Bridal Bazaar at Houghton Lodge Gardens. And with big names such as Ikonworks, Jemima Cakes, Meringue Girls (from Hackney of all places!) And firm wedding favourites like Judith Searles Flowers, Exquisite Bridal Couture and Angela Ward Brown – the place was packed… ALWAYS!! I was inundated with enquiries and felt so privileged to be a part of this amazing project run by the glamorous What Peggy Did Next team. I just had enough time to take a quick snap of these glorious meringues… as a makeup artist all this colour makes me very happy!!
See if you can spot the one they call Unicorn Poo!
This weekend I am crazy busy with bridal makeup trials all over the South of England and with the Bridal Boot Sale at wedding venue Houghton Lodge Gardens. Free Sunday? Then why not pop along to the Bridal Bazaar & Bridal Boot Sale at Houghton – pick up a bargain for your wedding and have a chat with hand selected wedding suppliers. We don’t bite honest!!

The wedding industry is no less susceptible to a trend or two than the fashion world is, perhaps even more so. A couple of years ago everything was shabby chic, vintage lace and high tea. Now we’re coming into a ‘I don’t do trends’ trend were couples are reinventing what a wedding means to them, and making it truly personal – no matter what the norms are, which I think is absolutely fantastic!
Currently though there are a few trends that people are loving, including me.
Ballet beautiful – as in half performance, half bridal makeup. Impactful, yet soft eyes meets flawless skin and ballet pink lips. Lengthening false eyelashes with a an extended cat flick over & underneath the eye. See my ballet photoshoot for more.
Silk, slim fitting wedding gowns – one trend for the more slimmer bride, that skin like texture is very popular with those blessed with no stomach and a smaller chest.
Flamingo styling – always a good trend it speaks of cocktails, holidays in the sun and mostly importantly adds a bit of fun x

What a wonderful, sunny day for a wedding fayre/bridal boot sale at Bury Court Barn, Surrey! A few months ago I heard about this amazing combination from my good friend Mia Hooper Photography, who told me of a company who thought of the idea of ex-brides selling their old wedding bits & pieces to new brides! And voila! The Bridal Boot Sale was born! I am now a converted wedding fayre/boot sale supplier, as brides love meeting wedding suppliers in this easy setting and get to pick up a bargain or two – also, rather than it being just all wedding suppliers couples don’t then feel pressured by sales persons. Something which I try to steer clear of myself.
There were so many gorgeous hand-picked suppliers as well like, Chalming Cake Designs and Karizma Function Band – whose music is so beautiful.
Can’t wait until the next one! x
