OPULENT VIOLET WEDDING IDEAS WITH A FLOWER CLOUD INSTALLATION

We’re on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings again!!

I can’t believe this is the third time a shoot I have been involved in has ended up being featured on this fab wedding blog!  This time it is a shoot we did way back in May this year at new wedding venue Pylewell Park, located in the New Forest.  With the royal wedding fresh in the minds of all of us, we decided to celebrate this new chapter and focus on something natural yet with an opulent twist.

I’ll be sharing more images of this shoot soon, but in the meantime you can view the full article and images below x

REPOST // The big questions – No. 3: How much?!

Today’s question revolves around the vulgar subject of money.  While the hire of a makeup artist is properly going to be your least expensive purchase, a lot of brides are still curious to know what they’re getting for their money.  A fair question.  So without further ado:

1. Training.  Any makeup artist worth his/her salt will have received a level of training when starting to develop their necessary skills and will continue this training whether by attending more courses, events or seminars to expand these expertise.

2. Experience.  This is probably the main factor in how much a makeup artist will charge.  Over the four years I have been in the wedding industry, I have worked with many different bridal clients, their bridesmaids and mothers – meaning I have experience working with different skin types, ethnicity and varying ages.  I know what will look gorgeous on a bride in her 20’s and sophisticated on a lady in her 60’s and the differences required in products and technique.

3. The makeup kit.  I spend about 80% of any earnings on maintaining my makeup kit.  This includes regularly purchasing new products, replacing short term usage products such as mascaras, the constant buying of false eyelashes and maintaining the brushes.

4. Travel.  Not the most glamorous part of the job but obviously a necessity.  Please note I would be more than happy to travel to your wedding if you’re getting married in the Bahamas!

5. And finally, you wouldn’t believe the time I spend filling out paperwork! x

And the previews continue!

Rachel & Chris’s Sopley Mill Wedding, Dorset

Gorgeous bride Rachel and Chris got married at Dorset wedding venue Sopley Mill this summer, and what a glorious day they had for it.  Super hot and sunny!  I simply loved designing Rachel’s bridal makeup – making it all about the eyes.  These are my most favourite images of their day, beautifully captured by Mia Photography, Rachel and her beau and one with her girlies… just everything a wedding should be about x

Your bridal makeup…

Your bridal makeup should always be breathtaking, luxurious and yet honest. I truly believe your wedding day is the one day when everyone and everything has to play their ‘A’ game!

“Frances you were a true treasure to find and did such an amazing job of not only my make up but all my bridesmaids. Thank you for making me feel so good and every time I look back at the photos I marvel at how natural yet glamorous my make up was 🙂 xx”

I’m having a wedding in Italy and want to book you – what’s the process?

I am totally in love with Italy.  The culture, history, language and of course, the exquisite natural landscape set against the unforgettable architecture.  What’s more I love an Italian wedding and my heart always skips a beat whenever I get an enquiry for this popular wedding destination.  I honestly cannot wait until the date rolls up and I get to fly out to my spiritual home and be a part of a truly special occasion.  It might seem a little extravagant to fly out your makeup artist for just a day, but with the uncertainty of quality from more local suppliers it’s just another huge confident tick you can add to your list of people who won’t let you down on a destination wedding.

But what exactly is the booking process and what is covered?  Well, when you first contact me about your Italian destination wedding I will need to know specific details of where your venue is, what time you want to get ready and how many are in the bridal party.  That way I can begin to map out a schedule including a flight plan, hotel accommodation and times.  I will then contact you back with prices and we can take it from there x

Megan and her dreamlike princess wedding makeup…

Today is the wedding of Megan and Adam… and what a beautiful day it turned out to be for them!  Megan’s choice of wedding venue, Upwaltham Barns, is sickeningly gorgeous and in the most stunning setting in West Sussex.  Truly the most sweetest bridal suite I’ve ever had the privilege of working in and wonderful lighting too!

Megan, like most brides, was a little uncertain of what makeup design she wanted.  Especially as she never really wears a lot of makeup day-to-day.   So designing something that felt comfortable and which Megan felt confident in wearing was particularly important… as with all my brides.  I wanted to create a dreamy princess look for her which complemented her wedding gown and also the location.  I kept her eyes very soft with pretty pinks, a coral blush and a pink shimmer lipstick x
