Just been looking back through our lingerie shoot images and came across this gorgeous one of Victoria Fergusson Accessories exquisite earrings in ‘India’
Description from Victoria’s website… ‘A lustrous pear pearl drop adorned with a beautiful rose or yellow gold pointy petal bead cap and tiny seed pearl. These earrings would make the perfect gift for your bridesmaids. Drop measures 17mm.’
I am very excited to see our latest styled shoot featured on the very fabulous Want That Wedding wedding blog, launching today. I had so much fun organising this one and pulling my dream team together again to create something feminine, sexy and powerful. Something which I think we all need to celebrate and be reminded of now and again… we’re women and we have incredible strength.
“You know what’s really, powerfully sexy? A sense of humour. A taste for adventure. A healthy glow. Hips to grab on to. Openness. Confidence. Humility. Appetite. Intuition. … Smart-ass comebacks. Presence. A quick wit. Dirty jokes told by an innocent-looking lady. … A storyteller. A genius. A doctor. A new mother. A woman who realises how beautiful she is”. ~ Courtney E. Martin
Watch my blog closely in the next few weeks as I’ll be revealing how I created model Jess’s sensual makeup design.

Your bridal makeup should always be breathtaking, luxurious and yet honest. I truly believe your wedding day is the one day when everyone and everything has to play their ‘A’ game!
“Frances you were a true treasure to find and did such an amazing job of not only my make up but all my bridesmaids. Thank you for making me feel so good and every time I look back at the photos I marvel at how natural yet glamorous my make up was 🙂 xx”
Lucy, The Master Builder’s at Buckler’s Hard
Today is the wedding of Charlie and Andy at The Master Builder’s at Buckler’s Hard Hotel, located near Beaulieu in the New Forest. I arrived this morning to a chilled out bride, who was very much excited about the day ahead! The perfect way to enjoy your wedding day. Charlie sat very calmly while I applied her wedding makeup look, just pausing to crack jokes now again about ‘cat fight club’… it’s a long story!!
I met Charlie not long ago for her bridal makeup trial and thoroughly enjoyed designing this pretty ‘soft focus’ makeup look for her. She allowed me free reign to come up with something special for her, that tied in all her wedding elements such as her flowers, wedding gown and theme. Charlie’s skin is in wonderful condition so I didn’t need to spend too much time correcting the complexion, allowing me extra time to perfect the eye design. I really wanted to give an impression of a contour to the eyes, with an optical illusion of a softer finish. Which I think has worked particularly well.
It was a joy to work with Charlie and her mum. I wish her all the very best in her married life x
Your bridal makeup trial is a vitally important element to your overall makeup design. It gives us the opportunity to discuss and look through any images of your wedding gown, flowers and theme. To also talk through what you want from your bridal makeup – do you want to have a subtle or bold approach? Or do you want the makeup to follow a 1950’s, Boho or Art deco theme?
I believe it is paramount for you to have choices for your wedding, but I am also there to help guide and advise.
I treat the trial as a completely open forum where any idea and opinion is welcome.
A couple of years ago I contacted a lady called Hannah Ferguson (wedding coordinator for The Master Builder’s) to see if she would be interested in a little alliance, as I had already provided makeup services to a couple of their bridal parties, and had fallen in love with this chic wedding venue. Luckily she said yes, and so began my love affair with The Master Builder’s. Since then I have exhibited at all of their wedding fayres (two a year) and been privy to many a wedding at this stunning place. I always have an exciting feeling every time I enter those wooden gates.
So I will be there again this November on Sunday 13th – doors open from 12pm and closing time is usually 5pm. No fees are required (unlike some places!) And there’s drinks and nibbles available upon arrival.
I occasionally get asked by clients which wedding fayres I will be attending that year, so they could catch me for a quick chat about their wedding makeup. The fact of the matter is that I now don’t attend as many as I used to – perhaps 2 or 3? This is mainly because I am now in the envious position of not needing to chase business, and most of my weekends are now booked with either a wedding or makeup trial – meaning I cannot attend these events. When I was starting out I would attend anything and everything, just to get my name out there and build my confidence with talking to potential bridal clients. I think this was the best thing I could have done for myself and my business, as I also met some great friends through other wedding suppliers who I now count on for styled shoots with magazines.
I often encourage brides to call, or email me if they need to talk about anything – even if it’s not makeup related! x
