5 ‘trending’ Engagements Rings for 2018

When the exciting news of Prince Harry’s engagement to American actress Meghan Markle broke out, the first thing everyone wanted to know was what did her ring look like?  What cut was it, what stones were used and thirdly where could you pick up a replica?  Like with Kate Middleton 6 years previously, the world again has gone Royal wedding crazy.  But who can blame us?  We all love a fairytale romance, and surely the symbolic jewellery we wear is just another part of that tale.  So if you’re in the market for an ‘on trend’ ring here are 5 of the most popular for 2018.

1. Tolkowsky 18ct White Gold 1ct Diamond Halo Ring

2. Neil Lane 14ct White Gold 0.80ct Oval Diamond Halo Ring

3. Neil Lane 14ct White Gold 0.83ct Sapphire And Diamond Ring

4. 9ct White Gold Morganite And Diamond Ring

5. 9ct Rose Gold 10pt Diamond & Morganite Ring

Amanda and her fairytale wedding at Balmer Lawn Hotel

Yesterday I had the great pleasure of doing the makeup for bride Amanda, on what shaped up to be a beautifully sunny day – just perfect for a fairytale wedding.  Amanda’s wedding dress was based upon the Disney animation Snow White, and came from the Disney wedding dress collection, so it definitely had impact in it’s stunning crimson colour.  To match her dress, Amanda had red roses in her plaited hair – so designing the makeup was quite tricky.  Amanda didn’t want anything too much, nor did we think red suited her english rose complexion.  So instead we opted for a coral colour for the lips, and kept the makeup very classic bridal so as not to over power the occasion and that incredible dress!
