It’s hard to believe that we created this shoot way back in March on Mothering Sunday. It was a lovely sunny day – gorgeous light and a nice warmth coming from Hill Place’s large windows, which made the shoot extra special.
I first approached photographer Tasha, of Ikonworks fame, about doing a 1940’s Atonement inspired shoot around January and she immediately loved the idea. I said I wanted it more historical than typical vintage – steering away from any ‘vintage’ cliches like red lipstick or Marilyn Monroe references. This was to be a very English affair. We then brought on styling team What Peggy Did Next, to which they then suggested the shoot to be held at Hill Place, which they help to run as a wedding venue. From there we then contacted our trusted suppliers and good friends to join us on this massive adventure. And no detail was too small either – I even travelled to Sussex one day to pick up the cocktail table from The Toast Events!
Seeing the shoot featured on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings is a complete dream and really is the icing on the cake.
We LOVE this shoot and we hope you do too x

A WOW cannot begin to describe yesterday! Fab weather, stunning venue and more importantly… gorgeous wedding couples!! The weather definitely helped to bring everyone to the Bridal Bazaar at Houghton Lodge Gardens. And with big names such as Ikonworks, Jemima Cakes, Meringue Girls (from Hackney of all places!) And firm wedding favourites like Judith Searles Flowers, Exquisite Bridal Couture and Angela Ward Brown – the place was packed… ALWAYS!! I was inundated with enquiries and felt so privileged to be a part of this amazing project run by the glamorous What Peggy Did Next team. I just had enough time to take a quick snap of these glorious meringues… as a makeup artist all this colour makes me very happy!!
See if you can spot the one they call Unicorn Poo!
