Throwback to this exquisite one and our boho shoot in the New Forest. Have a great Easter Weekend!
Today is the wedding of Amy and Angus, and what an absolutely perfect day it is for them! The beautiful couple meticulously planned every little detail for their garden wedding, held at Angus’s parents house in Wiltshire, and it really paid off today with gorgeous bell tents, hale bales and a marquee like no other!
When I met Amy for her makeup trial she was very open to ideas, but said that she very much wanted to wear coral lipstick for her big day sooo… her wish was my command! I teemed Amy’s boho chic hairstyle and wedding gown with a coral and brown smokey eye, a little blusher and contour – finishing up with that coral lipstick x
It’s always nice to look back and see what you’ve accomplished, where you’ve been and the people that you’ve worked with. I often find myself looking back at old photos of clients I have had the pleasure of doing the makeup for, and just seeing if my technique and methods have changed and developed.
It’s so strange to think that I did Emma’s bridal makeup way back in April 2015! How time flies! I remember Emma being a particularly easy client, as she just wanted something sweet, soft, a bit boho chic – but nothing too fussy. I have so many fond memories of that day, with Emma’s bridesmaids getting ready in the background and having a giggle…just what a wedding morning should be like!

Your bridal makeup trial is a vitally important element to your overall makeup design. It gives us the opportunity to discuss and look through any images of your wedding gown, flowers and theme. To also talk through what you want from your bridal makeup – do you want to have a subtle or bold approach? Or do you want the makeup to follow a 1950’s, Boho or Art deco theme?
I believe it is paramount for you to have choices for your wedding, but I am also there to help guide and advise.
I treat the trial as a completely open forum where any idea and opinion is welcome.
Earlier this year I got the chance to be a guest on the Beauty Expert Panel, at the very prestigious Your Hampshire & Dorset wedding magazine. Everyone was so lovely & nice to chat to – and very patient with me, as I had never written for such an elite magazine before – they all really know their stuff and everything about weddings, so it was quite intimidating at the beginning! It was great fun though, and I loved the chance to come up with different bridal looks dependent on theme.
I have to admit that when I got my free copy through the post, I was a bit like a kid at Christmas & tore through it to see my article! The issues all now have pride of place in my office…I even get them out still and draw on the different ideas in there x
