Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly happens at a hair, and or makeup trial?

Usually held approximately 6 weeks before your wedding day, the hair and or makeup trial is a chance to try out different styles that complement your wedding gown, colour scheme and theme.  They also serve as an opportunity to analyse the condition of the skin, and advise on ways to make sure it’s in tip top condition before the big day.

For inspiration I like to see any images of your wedding gown, flowers or general colour theme.  That way I can start to piece together a look that will complement all of these elements and (most importantly) something that will suit you and your gorgeous features.

After completing your initial look I will get you to have a look in my portable mirror (which you can then walk around the room with in different lights) to see if there is anything you want to add or change.  It is at this point I fully encourage my bridal clients to really voice their opinions, even if they hate it!  That way we can work together to build the perfect bespoke design.  If there are only minor changes, such as more blusher or a little less foundation, then it all goes down in my note book ready for the big day.  Any major changes we correct together at the trial so that you’re not worried about anything before the wedding.

How long does the average hair, and or makeup trial last?

You should allow up to 1.5 hours for a single makeup or hair trial. If requiring both hair and makeup please allow up to 3 hours. The time frame is based on an initial chat, practical application and feedback of the look at the end of the session.

Which products do you use?

In my professional hair & makeup kits are products which I have carefully selected for their high performance qualities and ability to work under pressure – which ensures your hair & makeup design has everything it needs to look fab!  These products include: Anastasia Beverly Hills * BaByliss PRO * Benefit * Bobbi Brown * Charlotte Tilbury * Dior * Hourglass * Huda Beauty * Laura Mercier * LA Girl * L’Oréal Professionnel * MAC * Makeup Geek * NARS * Sigma * Tarte * and Urban Decay to name a few.

Do you travel, and are there any travel charges?

Yes! I love to travel and visit new places. I am also available to travel abroad. For a full breakdown of my travel conditions please see my terms and conditions.

Travel expenses are incurred for bookings within mainland UK for every mile outside a 20-mile road distance from postcode SO41 at a rate of 50p for every mile. This is based on the return journey.

I’m planning on having quite a few bridesmaids. Do you cater for larger group sizes?

Yes definitely! An assistant hairstylist or makeup artist can be made available for your bridal group at an additional charge of £90. This allows the morning’s preparation to flow without any stress, and ensures that each person receives the attention they deserve. Please mention your approximate group size when enquiring.

Will my hair and makeup stay perfect all day?

In terms of makeup the only thing you will need to touch up during the day with be your lipstick and maybe a little bit of powder due to the odd tear! With hair, due to the complex preparation stage and pin placement, this should stay perfectly in place for the rest of the day.

How soon should I book?

My diary is always very busy, especially for Saturdays even in off peak seasons, so the earlier you can contact me the better! If I am unable to provide you with my services for the big day, then I will always endeavour to source an alternative hairstylist or makeup artist who is very similar to my skill set and prices.
